Common causes of drywall damage

Nail Pops which can occur when a nail was not set securely. Avoid hammering it back in, since you could end up causing further damage, and the nail will likely pop out again.

Scuff and scrapes caused by moving furniture.

Holes resulting from something (or someone) crashing into the wall.

Water damage from leaking pipes. In such cases the drywall will need to be replaced.

Cracking caused by the house settling or faulty plumbing. Often is fairly easily repaired.

Termite damage. This is often hard to detect early, but warning signs include small pinholes in the drywall, hollow sound when you knock on the wall, bubbling paint, or crumbling baseboards.

Our process

In cases of minor damage we will either use joint compound or drywall tape to patch up the damage, then sand and/or texture match the damaged area so it is ready to be painted.

For areas that have sustained extensive damage, we cut out the damaged part of the drywall and replace with a new section. Joint compound will once again be used to bond the two sections together. Next we will use strips of drywall tape to ensure it remains stable overnight. We will then return the next day to sand the joints down making them ready for paint.

We are family owned and locally operated, and will work with you from the first call to the final inspection, ensuring you are always in the loop and satisfied once we are finished.
